We've had this for a year or so, light use (two adults), generally happy with it until the metal support broke last month. On examination it seems to be a weak design, of base metal, not surprising I guess. Called the company and offered to return the broken part for their inspection, but expressed willingness to buy a replacement part. They weren't interested in the broken part, but sent the replacement part and billed my credit card for $40.15! We'd paid considerably more than that for the unit, but this still seemed unconscionably high. Now that I see the current retail is only $39, I feel like a fool--not their problem of course-- we should have shopped first and bought a new unit, which would look better since the clear plastic holders have dulled considerably over the last year. It maybe worth $39, but, sadly, not more. Good idea, cheaply done, with no shame in the company culture, in spite of very nice customer service person. I recently purchased this cereal dispenser and my kids love it!!! When I first tried it, the spinner also crushed the cereal, so I looked up their website ([...]) and called the manufacturer... their customer service was outstanding and that day rushed me new softer spinners for FREE. Now it works great with every cereal and snack I've tried! I especially like that it keeps the food fresh and my kids don't leave the box open anymore! I bought this b/c my 3year old wants a snack of cereal as soon as he wakes up, which is usually before me :)
He likes to eat it dry. So after researching, I bought this, and I'm so happy I did. The rotating mechanism inside that dispenses the cereal is soft enough that the cereal doesn't get pulverized. We've used everything: lucky charms, frosted mini-wheat bites, kashi's vanilla wheats. It's been a great blessing, plus it looks really cool. We keep it in our pantry, and we still get compliments on it.
The only downfall, for us, was when we first started using it, my kids would get cereal ALL the time b/c it was fun to dispense. We would have cups and baggies of dry cereal leftover. But the top of the dispenser is just a simple sealed lift, and I would just pour the uneaten cereal back in.
Another unexpected surprise is that with their typical sugary cereals, I can combine it w/Kashi Go Lean (for ex.), and they don't mind. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? |
